Seymour Hersh says the true conflict between Russia and the US is about the power over gas and oil markets going back to WW2

Seymour Hersh says in an interview with RT on why he claims that the US were behind the Nord Stream blasts in 2022, is because it’s a power struggle over the market, concerning the control over oil, gas and other important natural resources in the world, that can be used as a powerful weapon against competitors.

According to Hersh, this conflict didn’t start with the Ukraine war or the Nord Stream sabotage, but instead has been going on since the end of World War two.

Hersh says that there has always been a “worry” in the US, already back in the Kennedy years, with the enormous territory the Soviet Union and now Russia consists of and control in Asia and in Siberia in especially. A territory with enormous amounts of natural gas and oil in particularly, that Russia could somehow use to “weaponize” itself with, as a “political weapon in the struggle” with the US and the West over power and influence in the world.

Hersh also made comments about his recent revelations, about him claiming that the US and Norway was behind the Nord Stream blasts. He pointed out that he understands that Russia now is benefiting from his revelations in their narrative, by “responding to the story with enthusiasm”, because Russia is “in a war”, said Hersh to RT.

Hersh also told the reporter what kind of evidence he has to back up his claims about the US being behind the blasts.

“I have empirical stuff that I can’t make public because I have said I would not,” said Hersh. But he went on and said that the companies that were involved in building the Nord Stream pipelines under water, that he himself had been in contact with during his investigation, are convinced that Russia “didn’t do it”, and that the thought is just “insane” thinking that Russia could have blown up their own gaslines, said Hersh.
